WILL RUSSIA ABANDON INDIA - BECAUSE OF PAKISTAN - THE ANSWER IS NO

RUSSIA - PAKISTAN MILITARY DRILL AND SUSPICIONS ON INDIAN SIDE

  • Actually, there are absolutely no grounds for suspicion, whoever might harbour it, that Russia might be abandoning it's privileged and strategic relationship with India.
  • Nor is there any sign that Moscow attempts to take an equidistant approach to the unfortunate rivalry in the turbulent region.
  • The one-dimensional assumption that the ‘Friendship-2016’ drills could tilt the balance of sympathy and affect the geopolitical leaning of Moscow toward Islamabad is unworthy of any serious analysis.

  • There is also no proof that Moscow might put on par its long-standing dialogue with New Delhi and its only recently activated interaction with Islamabad.

RUSSIA CAN NOT FORGET AFGHAN WOUNDS

  • After all, Pakistan used to be a close ally of Soviet Union’s formidable Cold war foe and sponsored the Afghan Islamist mujahideen, who were responsible for the deaths of many Russian soldiers in the country known as the “burial ground of empires.”
  • Even if simply counted in the number of servicemen deployed at the concurrent drills, the ‘zero sum’ game cannot be replayed.
  • There is no sense in echoing the observation from the Duchess in Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland: “The more there is of mine, the less there is of yours.”

REASONS BEHIND THE DRILL WITH PAKISTAN

  • After all, Moscow has been conspicuously calm since 1992, when the Malabar exercises between the United States and India were launched. It is the sovereign right of any nation to choose allies of various grades, provided their military cooperation is not aimed at threatening time-honored friends.
-Vladimir Mikheev

WEAPONRY USED IN INDRA AND FRIENDSHIP 2016

INDIAN SIDE

  • During the drills, units of the Eastern Military District and Indian Armed Forces, with the help of Russian Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles, trained together to find conditional groups of illegal armed groupings,
  • ”Matveyev said. “With use is UAVs, the servicemen of the two countries also practised laying routes to transport tactical groups to the areas with illegal armed groupings in order to block and conditionally destroy them.”
RUSSIAN SIDE

  • On the Russian side, among participants in the drills are two mechanised infantry companies, a tank company, howitzer, self-propelled artillery and rocket batteries and a flamethrower squad. A motorised battalion of 250 people is participating in the military exercise from the Indian side.
  • In total, over 500 servicemen and up to 50 units of equipment are taking part in the drills, along with a group of UAVs, and assault and army aviation of the Eastern Military District.

FIGHT WITH INDIA - PAKISTAN AFFECTED HUGELY

  •  No cricket with Pakistan unless the terrorist problem is resolved by them.
  •  SAARC Summit cancelled - First India withdrew and then all other nations
  •  U.N - Mr Ban ki Moon - Refused to accept M. Nawaz Sharif Dossier  on Kashmir
  •  U.N. - No time slot has been allotted to discuss the Kashmir issue which is raised by  Pakistani P.M Mr Nawaz Sharif
  •  Considering to stop  Samjhota Express
  •  Considering to abandon all the air connections to Pakistan
  •  Support from the most two powerful nation Russia and The USA openly.
  •  India got the RAFALE deal according to its requirements - which was not possible  without the French Support - Hence France is also standing with India
  •  China is fearful of taking the side of Pakistan on Kashmir issue, so they refused to  comment on the issue and ready to discuss with India The Azahar Masood issue.
  •  F-16 Fighter jets which Pakistan was supposed to purchase from The USA, has been cancelled.
  •  Pakistan led the terrorist attack to make India take the decision of establishing  separate Air wing of BSF.
  •  India is also considering to revoke the Most Favoured Nation's status of Pakistan , which will result in huge economic losses to Pakistan.

EXPLANATION

Pakistan itself has suffered a lot from terrorism, and further will, if the world started considering them as "untouchable" nation.

They should stop this and focus on what they have and try to make the life of the Pakistani citizen much better.

I think now they can understand the pain of India, which they have given through many terrorist attacks killing hundreds of innocent.

Even if Pakistan do not learn lesson from all the above points it can be concluded that they have no respect and they don't care about their own citizens

  • This would be the first-ever joint military exercise between Russia and Pakistan
  • Exercise will be held in Chart of Pakistan
  • According to the Russian media TASS, around 70 Russian troops arrived in Rawalpindi in Pakistan for the military exercise named "Friendship2016"
  • Further Tass also quoted that The Russian and Pakistani military will share their experience and employ  teamwork in fighting in mountainous area particularly destroying illegal armed group
  • Exercise between the two cold war enemies (importantly Afghan war) is being held amid speculations that it would be cancelled due to the terrorist attack in Indian base camp in Uri- Kashmir

  • Mr Putin in 2010 said that - " Russia does not have any military cooperation with Pakistan because we bear in mind the concerns of our Indian Friend"
  • But Russian mIlitary cooperation has been substantially increased with Islamabad                                                                                                                                               Signing deal on 4 Mi-35M attack helicopters last August.                                                                                                                                                                                           Further, Islamabad is considering the purchase of advanced Russian fighter planes.

  • No reactions from Indian side on the joint drill of Russia and Pakistan till now, it would be evident to see the reactions of such drill,
  • Would it lead to bad India-Russia relations or it would become deeper when in the next month Mr President Vladimir Putin will visit India?

  • Although Russia has strongly condemned Uri attack

M.A.R.I.N.E.S - U.S.A

ABOUT
  • The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is a branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for providing power projection.
  • The Marine Corps has been a component of the U.S. Department of the Navy since 30 June 1834 to  rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces on land, at sea, and in the air.
  • By the mid-20th century, the U.S. Marine Corps had become a major theorist of and the world's dominant practitioner of amphibious warfare. Its ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy

STRENGTH
  • As of 2016, the USMC has around 182,000 active duty members and some 38,900 reserve Marines. It is the smallest of the U.S. Armed Forces within the U.S. DoD

PURPOSE
  • This focus on the infantry is matched with the doctrine of "Every Marine a rifleman",
  • a focus of Commandant Alfred M. Gray, Jr., emphasizing the infantry combat abilities of every Marine. All Marines, regardless of military specialization, receive training as a rifleman; and all officers receive additional training as infantry platoon commanders
  • For example, at Wake Island, when all of the Marine aircraft were shot down, pilots

continued the fight as ground officers
  • The United States Army maintains light infantry units capable of rapid worldwide deployment,
  • but those units do not match the combined-arms integration of an MAGTF and lack the logistics that the Navy provides.
  • Therefore, the Marine Corps is often assigned to non-combat missions such as the evacuation of Americans from unstable countries and providing humanitarian relief during natural disasters.
  • In larger conflicts, Marines act as a stopgap, to get into and hold an area until larger units can be mobilized.

THANKS, TO CAPT. SAMUEL NICHOLAS - ORIGIN
  • The United States Marine Corps traces its institutional roots to the Continental Marines of the American Revolutionary War, formed by Captain Samuel Nicholas by a resolution of the Second Continental Congress on 10 November 1775, to raise two battalions of Marines. That date is regarded and celebrated as the date of the Marine Corps' birthday.

MORE RESPONSIBILITY
  • Following the attacks on 11 September 2001, President George W. Bush announced the Global War on Terrorism
  • The stated objective of the Global War on Terror is "the defeat of Al-Qaeda, other terrorist groups and any nation that supports or harbors terrorists. Since then, the Marine Corps, alongside other military and federal agencies, has engaged in global operations around the world in support of that mission.

 MAJOR OPERATION - AFGHANISTAN

  • Marines and other American forces began    staging in Pakistan and Uzbekistan on the  border of Afghanistan as early as October  2001 in preparation for Operation Enduring Freedom.
  • in December, the Marines seized Kandahar  International Airport.
  • Since then, Marine battalions and squadrons have been rotating through, engaging Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces

MAKING OF MARINES
  • The Marine Corps accounts for around six percent of the military budget of the United States. The cost per Marine is $20,000 less than the cost of a serviceman from the other services, and the entire force can be used for both hybrid and major combat operations
  • Every year, over 2,000 new Marine officers are commissioned, and 38,000 recruits accepted and trained. All new Marines, enlisted or officer, are recruited by the Marine Corps Recruiting Command
  • Enlisted Marines attend recruit training, known as boot camp,
  • All recruits must pass a fitness test to start training; those who fail to receive individualized attention and training until the minimum standards are reached. Marine recruit training is the longest among the American military services it is 12 weeks long

ADVANCED TRAINING
  • Then the selected ones attend School of Infantry training at Camp Geiger or Camp Pendleton.

  • Infantry Marines begin their combat training, which varies in length, immediately with the Infantry Training Battalion (ITB).
  • Marines in all other MOSs other than infantry train for 29 days in Marine Combat Training (MCT), learning common infantry skills, before continuing on to their MOS schools which vary in length

MARTIAL ARTS
  • placing Marines in even closer contact with unarmed civilians, MCMAP was implemented to provide Marines with a larger and more versatile set of less-than-lethal options for controlling hostile, but unarmed individuals.
It is a stated aim of the program to install and maintain the "Warrior Ethos" within Marines

WEAPONRY
The basic infantry weapon of the Marine Corps are:-

RIFLES

  • M16 assault rifle
  • The M4 carbine
  • Colt 9mm SMG
  • M9A1 pistol
  • The Colt M1911A1
  • M249 SAW

GRENADES

  • M203 grenade launcher
  • and the M32 grenade launcher fireteams,
  • M224 60 mm mortar in companies, and
  • M252 81 mm mortar in battalions.

MACHINE GUNS

  • The M2 .50 caliber heavy machine gun and
  • MK19 automatic grenade launcher (40 mm)
  • M40 series
  • and the Barrett M107
  • M240 machine guns,

ROCKETS AND MISSILE

  • The Marine Corps utilizes a variety of direct-fire rockets and missiles to provide infantry with an offensive and defensive anti-armor capability.
  • The SMAW and AT4 are unguided rockets that can destroy armor and fixed defenses (e.g., bunkers) at ranges up to 500 meters.
  • The smaller and lighter M72 LAW can destroy targets at ranges up to 200 meters.
  • The Predator SRAWFGM-148Javelin, and BGM-71 TOW are anti-tank guided missiles.

EXPLANATION
  • This is just a brief of MARINES, their is lot of things like their operations, other battle gears, ranks, achievements, current deployments. But we have tried to collect all the major things you need to know about MARINES, in future we will write a separate post for each topic in detail.

BORDER SECURITY BY LASER TECHNIQUE

ABOUT ISRAEL

Israel is known for its covert operations undertaken by the deadliest MOSSAD. Or we can say that the Israel has 0 tolerance for any threat to Jews or on its own country.

COMMON INTERESTS

Bonds of India - Israel is well known to the world, Israel also supported India during Kargil war, it is said that they also have provided the satellite images of Pakistani armies movement to Indian forces.

BARAK 8 Missiles are the best example of their friendship.

Indian MARCOS are also trained on the lines of the Israeli Special forces, Israel provided the major training programmes to India in initial stages of developing the Indian special forces.

BORDER CHALLENGES FACED BY BOTH THE COUNTRIES

India is facing  huge difficulties in defending infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan due to its difficult to patrol border lines with Pakistan like Kachh in Gujrat, High terrains in Kashmir etc.

India has 14 different kinds of borders which are managed by different border units and forces, mostly manually.

Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh  visited Israel and he was shown a different kind of borders in Israel with their own uniqueness

Both the countries shared similar challenges in border management and that Israel has a solution for this.

SOLUTION TO THE BORDER SECURITY CHALLENGES

Israel has the cyber technology experience of securing borders. Israel is now using electro-optical sensors to collect the information via unmanned ariel vehicles. Isreal is the world leader in developing UAV's technology, sensors are also used to collect data and information from towers along with the border. All the sensors are integrated with a field command and an integrated room " operated by a very intelligent soldier women", who directs special forces in order to mitigate incoming threats.

So it can be concluded that the Israel is the safest place even after having all the enemy countries around.

India has now moved toward the UAV's by Israel for securing their borders, the act of getting it gets boost after Mr. Modi came to the power and faster after Uri attack in Kashmir,

PROGRESS REPORT

Eight infrared laser beam intrusion detection systems were made operational along the many vulnerable and sensitive areas of the international border, a senior official of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) said, according to the Times of India. The official claimed four more devices of the same kind will be set up in the upcoming days.

According to reports, a total of 45 such laser walls will be installed along the international border in Punjab and Indian-held Kashmir.
“The laser walls have started working and their functioning is being monitored.
Preliminary results in detecting illegal movements are encouraging,” the official said.

NSG COMMANDOS - INDIA

FIRST OPERATION OF NSG - 29–30 April 1986: About 300 NSG commandos and 700 Border Security Force troops stormed the Golden Temple in Operation Black Thunder I. The Temple was cleared and handed over to Punjab Police on 1 May 1986. 300 Sikh militants were captured, and there were no deaths or injuries for either side.

In Golden Temple it became necessary to deploy NSG as per the insider information at that time, the militants were holding up ammunition equivalent to the one regiment of the Indian army or ammunition equivalent to the Army uses to cover the area of 8 k.m. They  were prepared to take on Army but not the Special Forces.
  • The National Security Guard (NSG) was set up in 1984,  in the wake of 1984 Operation Blue Star, and the high collateral damage to Golden Temple.
  • NSG employed along with SIT in search and strike missions after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.  at that time the security responsibility of the UPCOMING Prime Minister was in hands of Delhi Police itself (i.e. NSG takes security cover only after the oath of P.M.) When Mr. Gandhi was Assassinated by LTTE, from that time NSG undertakes the security of Prime Minister about to take oath.
  • The NSG is a Force specially equipped and trained to deal with specific situations and is therefore, to be used only in exceptional situations. The Force is not designed to undertake the functions of the State Police Forces or other Para Military Forces of the Union of India.
  • Recruitments are done from existing Defence forces.

  • The NSG was modelled on the pattern of the SAS of the UK and GSG-9 of Germany. It is a task-oriented Force and has two complementary elements in the form of the Special Action Group (SAG) comprising Army personnel and the Special Ranger Groups (SRG), comprising personnel drawn from the Central Para-Military Forces / State Police Force. All the personell are on deputation.
  • In response to criticism of the time taken by NSG units to arrive in Mumbai inNovember 2008, from their base in Manesar, Haryana, the MHA decided to deploy NSG contingents in major cities across India like Mumbai, Kolkata ), Hyderabad and Chennai. I think it was not the NSG default, It is said that Delhi was slow on taking the call to deploy NSG.
  • Selection is demanding and has a drop out rate of about 70–80 percent.
  • Three of their 14 months of training in Manesar, Haryana, are devoted to the basics. The basic training period lasts 90 days. Physical fitness training has 26 elements, ranging from a cross-country obstacle course to jumping from heights and across divides and scaling different kinds terrain.
  • One endurance test involves martial arts, target shooting at the end of an obstacle-ridden cross-country run. This is meant to gauge the candidate’s performance under conditions of stress and exhaustion. Those who successfully complete the tests are sent for nine months of advanced training.
